AMF-Bruns of America congratulates Tammy Cummings, Special Needs Bus Driver, as winner of the annual National Special-Needs School Bus Driver Of The Year Award. She works for the Greenville County School System in South Carolina.
As a special-needs driver and trainer with a special-needs child, Tammy was directly involved in a head- on collision in which a tractor trailer crossed the double line, spun out of control hitting her school bus. Tammy stayed calm and stopped the bus to lessen the force of the collision. She had the wherewithal to keep the children in the bus to avoid downed power lines. See Tammy’s video of the accident.
Tammy was recognized for this achievement and received her award at a special ceremony held at her school district. Nominations for the annual AMF-Bruns National Special-Needs School Bus Driver Of The Year Award are being accepted. Learn more at: amfbrunsamerica.com/awards
